Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Macdonald Trevan International Schools ("the School", "we", "us", or "our") school management portal ("the Portal"), including all related websites and mobile applications. By creating an account or otherwise accessing the Portal, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Portal.

If you are a parent/guardian registering or acting on behalf of a minor student, or a staff member acting on behalf of the School, you confirm that you have the authority to accept these Terms on that basis.

1. Who Can Use the Portal

The Portal is intended solely for use by current students, parents and guardians of enrolled students, teachers, and administrative staff of Macdonald Trevan International Schools. Accounts are issued or approved by the School; you may not create an account if you are not affiliated with the School in one of these capacities.

2. Accounts and Security

• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
• You must notify the School immediately if you suspect any unauthorized use of your account.
• You must provide accurate and up-to-date information when registering and using the Portal.
• Parents/guardians are responsible for the appropriate use of the Portal by any student account they are linked to or supervise.

3. Acceptable Use

When using the Portal, you agree that you will not:

• Access, or attempt to access, records, results, or information belonging to another user that you are not authorized to view;
• Share your login credentials with, or allow use of your account by, any other person;
• Upload, post, or transmit any content that is unlawful, abusive, defamatory, or that infringes another person's rights;
• Attempt to disrupt, probe, or compromise the security or integrity of the Portal or its underlying systems;
• Use the Portal for any purpose other than legitimate school-related academic, administrative, or communication purposes;
• Misrepresent academic records, results, attendance, or any other data recorded on the Portal.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for any user who violates these Terms, at the School's discretion.

4. Academic Records and Content

Grades, results, report cards, attendance, and other academic records made available through the Portal are provided for the convenience of students, parents, and staff, and remain subject to verification and correction by the School. In the event of any discrepancy between the Portal and the School's official records, the School's official records shall prevail.

Quizzes, learning resources, booklists, and other academic content made available on the Portal are for the personal educational use of the enrolled student and may not be copied, redistributed, or used for any commercial purpose without the School's written consent.

5. Fees and Payments

Where the Portal is used to view invoices or make payment of school fees, all payments are subject to the School's official fee policy. Payments are processed through third-party payment providers, and the School is not responsible for errors, delays, or outages caused by such providers. Coupons or discounts applied through the Portal are subject to their individual terms and the School's approval. Please refer to the School's fee policy, or contact the School directly, regarding refunds.

6. Feedback and Communication

The feedback and notification features of the Portal are intended for constructive, respectful, school-related communication between students, parents, teachers, and administrators. The School may review communications sent through the Portal for safeguarding, administrative, or quality-assurance purposes.

7. Privacy

Our collection and use of personal information through the Portal is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms. By using the Portal, you also agree to the Privacy Policy.

8. Intellectual Property

The Portal, including its design, software, and School-provided content (excluding user-submitted content), is owned by or licensed to the School and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the Portal without prior written permission from the School.

9. Availability and Changes

We aim to keep the Portal available and functioning correctly, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Portal, and may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Portal after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the School shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Portal. The Portal is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or use of the Portal shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Lagos State, Nigeria.
